A series of posters playing with minced oaths and collage.

PROJECT: Minced Oaths Posters
DATE: Fall 2021
Using a RISO graph printer as a medium, I created a series of six bold, typographic posters combining sourced online imagery and collage techniques as an exploration of technique, type, composition, and fun.
The phrases are ones I've heard at least once in my life. The imagery is highly mind-driven, approaching my research with a minced oath in mind and letting my random thoughts take the driver's seat and dictate the nature of the imagery. Some connections are logical, such as using a rabbit for "dang nabbit," or a skateboarder for "aye caramba" in reference to Bart Simpson.
